"Flightless Birds" is a strange name for this image, but there's a reason for it. My friend, who was studying there, had told me that the symbol of Hiroshima was the crane, which I interpreted as the construction equipment, rather than the bird. Hence, I took this photo, thinking it perfectly captured Hiroshima.
In my defence, in Japanese Hiroshima is written as 広島, and the first Kanji looks vaguely like a crane. I blame the Jet lag.
